We're excited to introduce our new Wilwood Rear Disc Brake upgrade for Volkswagen Vanagons. We've taken our well proven rear disc brake kit and adapted it to fit Wilwood calipers. To make it even better, we increased the rotor diameter as well. This means better braking and best of all, a better parking brake.
About the calipers
Wilwood’s Combination Parking Brake (CPB) Hydra-Mechanical Caliper uses hydraulic pressure for stopping and a mechanical locking mechanism for a parking brake. These calipers are manufactured from steel and powder coated to ensure they last. The best part is, they are readily available nationwide in case you ever need to replace or rebuild them.
What about pedal travel?
We've found through testing that the stock Vanagon master cylinder and booster handle the increased displaced volume well. Your brake pedal will feel like that of a stock late Vanagon.

Vehicle: This kit will fit all Vanagons.

Note: Your Vanagon hubs need to be machined in order to fit the rotors supplied in this kit. The hubs need to be less than 133 mm in diameter. This is a slightly smaller diameter than what is required for our Girling big brake kit. So if you're going from one kit to another make sure you measure the diameter of your hub.
