What is Small Car Performance?
Small Car Performance (SCP) is a specialty Volkswagen Shop and Engineering Facility that is family-owned and is the creator and leading installer of Subaru conversion kits for Vanagons, Buses, and everything in between.
SCP was founded in 1970 and started as a Beetle shop in Tacoma, Washington. Over the past 40 years Small Car has evolved into focusing on the engineering and modernizing classic Volkswagens. We take classic VW buses, Vanagons, bugs, and other models and re-power them with modern drivetrains and modern amenities for the "weekend-wrencher" or daily driver. We build aftermarket kits for the DIYer and also provide restoration services. We also manufacture and sell products for "Vanlife," camping, and overland enthusiasts looking for something a little different!
